“…a black man, so they say.”

The politician in me is angry. The sociologist in me is worried. Honestly, I would rather be worried than angry. For me, worry can lead to productive efforts and positive outcomes. Anger only leads to more anger, cynicism, and hate. I won’t do that anymore.

I grew up a Republican in Rushville, Illinois and started in politics early in life, it was the family trade. Early on, much of what I learned was from my dad…
